    What Is Wild Honey?

Wild honey is honey harvested from natural hives on cliffs and trees.

No one builds, places or manages these hives.

Humans only come to extract the honey from the combs.

Many jars of Kashmiri honey say "wild" on the label. But real wild honey is very small in quantity.

Why is wild honey so rare?

Wild hives are few and hard to reach. The harvest is seasonal, and each hive gives only a little. So the true amount of wild honey is small.

    What is multiflora honey?

Multiflora honey is made by bees kept in managed boxes. The beekeeper places the boxes, and the bees collect nectar from many flowers nearby. In Kashmir, that can be apple blossom, clover, mustard and mountain wildflowers.

It is real, natural honey. It is just not wild.

Why is multiflora sold as wild honey?

Because "wild" sounds rare, and rare sells. But if wild hives are few, the amount of "wild honey" on shelves does not add up.

One thing to remember: wild honey is also multifloral, since wild bees visit many flowers. So the flowers don't tell you if honey is wild. The hive does.

How to check before you buy

    • Ask where the honey was collected and by whom.
    • Ask if it came from natural hives or managed boxes.
    • Be careful if every batch has the same color and taste. Wild honey changes with season.
    • Be careful if a "wild" jar has a very low price.

An honest limit: a jar alone cannot prove that honey is wild. Trust sellers who can clearly explain the source, the season and the person who collected it.

Kashmiri honey price: why it varies

Kashmiri honey price depends on the source, the season, and whether the honey is raw or filtered. Real wild honey costs more because so little of it exists. A very low price with a "wild" label is a warning sign.

Buy Kashmiri honey online with confidence

When you buy Kashmiri honey online, look for honest labels: the origin, raw or filtered, and multiflora or wild. Our Kashmiri multi flora honey is sold as multi flora, and we say so clearly.

    FAQ

    What is wild honey?

Wild honey is honey harvested from natural hives on cliffs and trees, where humans only extract the honey.

    Is multiflora honey real honey?

Yes. It is natural honey made from many flowers, but the bees live in managed boxes, so it is not wild.

    Can wild honey be verified?

Not from the jar alone. Ask the seller where, when and by whom it was collected.

Note: Do not give honey to babies under 1 year.
